Procedure for Root Canal Treatment

Root canal treatment is a treatment to make the patient pain free in cases of acute pain pertaining to a localized area in the oral cavity.

Patients typically need a root canal when there is inflammation or infection in the roots of a tooth. During root canal treatment, the dentist removes the pulp inside the tooth, cleans, disinfects and shapes the root canals, and places a filling to seal the space.

It is mandatory to crown a tooth after a root canal treatment to prevent fracture of the tooth.
